In the autumn of 2018, a new initiative of the European Union was launched under the name of European Solidarity Corps. The thought behind the new program is that it gives young people the opportunities to become more active in Europe on volunteering basis or work in (solidarity) projects in their own country or abroad for the benefit of communities and people throughout Europe. According to European Union guidelines, the new European Solidarity Corps program gives inspiring and empowering experiences to young people and it foster solidarity in the European society, it therefore engage young people and organisations in accessible and high-quality solidarity activities.
